The finest timber, double glazing and ironmongery products
Timber

All timbers used by Sturrocks are sourced from major importers who only procure their stock from renewable sources.
We check every piece of timber on delivery for quality and moisture content, immediately returning all sub-standard material. Once selected, timbers are kept in purpose-built storage sheds equipped with the correct racking and ventilation systems to keep the material in perfect condition until required.
Paints and Lacquers

Unless an alternative is specifically requested by a client, we only use microporous water based paints and lacquers as they are environmentally friendly and non-toxic for the end user.
Glass

All glass and double glazed units are made to measure and only ordered when the main component reaches a stage when such measurements can be taken with precision accuracy.
The standard specification for double glazed windows and doors is to use ‘K’ glass for the inner pane and have them argon gas filled. This is because K glass has a low emissivity coating on the surface facing into the air gap between the two panes making up the double glazing unit. Low emissivity coatings stop the heat absorbed by the glass from radiating across the air gap and escaping into the cold outside world. Instead, the heat is reflected back into the room – the coating working in much the same way as a sheet of reflecting foil placed behind a central heating radiator.
Ironmongery
We source only the finest quality ironmongery to suit every application.
Unless otherwise specified, our standard door fixtures are Mariani solid brass or stainless steel fittings from Italy. Our window ironmongery is sourced from major manufacturers such as with window ironmongery from major manufacturers such as PN and Titon.
Examples of our high-quality products are our casement windows
and our hardwood doors and windows .
